Treasures (or: She’s Crafty)
Sussy B. Sussalah Buckets, Esq. tagged me in a note on the Facebooks promising me treasures if I promised treasures to others. This gave me the push I needed to finally get my new sewing machine (Thanks, Overstock! Thoverstock.). And I was able to get a terribly fancypants machine for very little money:
I bought a pattern from Keyka-Lou and fabric from Fabric Worm on etsy then hired my own Tim Gunn to keep an eye on me and give me encouragement:
(Above: Cat Gunn) She told me to make it work at this point. So, I fired up my machine, turned on the Yankees game and got to work.
“Hello designer. How’s it going in here? I have to say I’m a bit concerned with your progress. You need to edit yourself. Make it work, okay?”
TAH-DAH! I know it’s a first effort and a pretty simple pattern, but I’m very happy with my little Dewdrop Bags. So, ladies of the Facebooks, your treasures are on the way…

Fact: The Natchitoches National Fish Hatchery handles over 6 species of fish and other wildlife.
Fact: The Natchitoches Meat Pie is one of the official state foods of Louisiana.
Fact: Chris says I probably won’t be able to find a hat that has “Kajun Kountry” written on it, but I’m sure gonna try.

I feel pretty.
Oh so pretty.
Angelina Jolie can’t get enough of my neighborhood. She is filming a movie one block down - exactly in my path to the gym.
Under the best of circumstances this is a bit of a walk of shame: I’m tired, I’m grumpy, not wearing make-up, and yoga pants are happening. So it’s especially not fun to walk this walk doing the limbo under the giant lenses of the paparazzi cameras.
If I end up in US Weekly, we’re going to have to have a talk.

i wasn’t going to blog anymore.
however, due to the increasingly annoying updates to facebook, i’ll do my best to let you know what i’m up to here. and i’ll try not to speak in the third person, but, like including supergroup chicago on every mixed-tape, it may be a hard habit to break.
